I just personally have never been happy with the direction of the company that makes it, as they're essentially a crypto/ad company. This shouldn't be acceptable to anyone in 2023.īrave is great from a privacy perspective with its ability to defend against CNAME cloaking (unlike any other Chromium-based browser) and strong anti-fingerprinting built in too. Essentially every domain you visit is sent to their servers in real-time, allowing them to build a complete picture of your browsing history. Unfortunately those come at a price, and the browser takes extreme liberties with users' privacy. My opinion is that Opera comes with some nice features and GX has nice customization. Vivaldi might be a more apt comparison in terms of features and UI customization. So which browser is better despite its downsidesĬomparing Opera to Brave is like comparing apples to oranges.
